I'M BACK WITH MORE!

Hello Again! I have been absent from my blog due to a crazy few months, but I am back with more fun finds and adventures. I traveled to Michigan for a little Mommy/Daughter weekend and found a true treasure of a place. If you are as obsessed with junking as I am, then you will love Willow Pond Antiques.

Willow Pond is a true mish mosh of goods, and as you can see, they have a few structures filled with ironwork, furniture, little oddities, and much more. You can find this place in Fenwick Michigan, just off of the scenic Blue Star Highway. Happy Hunting!

TRAVEL WITH THE PAST

No wheels or fancy features on these gems, but the amount of style crafted into these suitcases is irreplaceable. Use them as an aesthetic layer in your home or as a travel companion, either way, they are beautiful.

ELDERBERRY....ME LIKE A LOTTIE!

This is my favorite plant I own. I once saw it in a magazine, and fell in love with the dark foliage color and the yogurt colored flowers.

My sister made me purchase it from our local nursery and I am glad I did. Within a year it was tripple the size and producing fist size flowers. I am in love with it!

PERFECTION PUT INTO WORDS

For those who know me, it has been no secret of my obsession with the band Radiohead. At 13 years old, I purchased one of my first CD's (Radiohead's OK Computer) on a whim and have been under their spell ever since and in my opinion, every album that they release only gets better.

I was lucky enough to see them a few times in concert and trying not to be biased, I truly believe they are the masters of music. This song is by far my new favorite, so enjoy the video.......Now I know where I get my dance moves!

Oh, and if you are not a fan.....don't even think of leaving a comment. Your words are not welcome:)

MOR SOAP PLEASE!

I have always been a fan of my Dove bar of soap until a friend introduced me to MOR. I was under the assumption that fancy looking soaps where just nice to look at but the reality is they are truly amazing! I first tried the Blood Orange sent, but have fallen in love with the Lychee bar. So milky and hydrating, by hands are in heaven.
I just want to say thank you Petal Play for introducing me to this little luxury.

TRAVIS LOUIE PORTRAITS

Travis Louie is one of those artists I came across just by chance and now will never be forgotten. I can't deny that I like a little fantasy added into the world around me, so this unique take on old fashioned portraits seems to catch my eye.

Like his portraits, Travis Louie is outside the "box", but it takes a unique individual to create unique art. Influenced by Victorian portraits, circus side shows, genre films, etc... he has created something truly original .

Check out Travis Louie.

MR. ED DOES EXIST

I took this photo just minutes from our cabin in Gobles, Mi. I love that this magnificent creature can look goofy and that I was lucky enough to capture that moment. Hey Buddy.... Teeth to be proud of!

PRETTY, PRETTY, PRETTY

I was driving to my BFF's (yes, I still call her my BFF- leave it alone) house for dinner last night and was blinded by the most magnificent sunset. I felt like I was seeing heaven peeking through the clouds. I almost got into a car crash trying to snap this photo from my phone camera, but between the glorious sunset and this inspiring song that was playing on the radio, I wanted to share my moment:)

MEMORIES TRAPPED IN A HUTCH

While making cake with a friend , we took a brake to have some tea with the sweetest little set. Her cups and saucers where all mismatched pieces with some type of sentimental value or story. This got me thinking that I too have a special tea set, in fact everything I have collected in my Hutch over the years has some type of memory attached to it.

My antique yellow glass's are a flea market find where it was love at first sight. My mom actually knew the dealer who was a little hesitant to part with the unique set, but seeing that I was truly excited, decided to part ways with them. Hurray for me!
The mismatched tea cups and saucers are all memorable pieces of my grandmother (Oma) and her making the trip as a teen from Germany to the states to start her life over. As a little girl, I remember starring at them and enjoying all the little gold painted details. Now I walk by my little treasures every day.

Just so you know, I actually do use all these pieces, and thought they where too beautiful to not share.

HUGABLE GERMS!

Last week I was bitten by some type of flu bug and found myself looking up symptoms on Web MD since I am addicted to this site (I am ashamed!). As I typed in the word Flu, this site popped up in the search engine and caught my eye. Although I had a rather sickly afternoon, this made me smile. I hope you enjoy! Photo to left: ebola plush

GIANT microbes

You can find the germ/disease that fancies you and have something to cuddle up to without the side effects. These cute representations comes in a large variety, and each plush is set in its own petri dish.

PAPER ME PRETTY

I need to get out of this winter funk and there is no better way than adding a little bit of spring inspired wallpaper into my life. I have the worlds smallest closet that needs some pizazz so I can not wait to tackle that project. I will keep you posted once it is finished! Wish me luck.

GREAT INSIPATION

Audrey Kawaski Art

A few years back, I was browsing the Barns & Nobles magazine section while sipping on my Starbucks coffee(I can never get too much Starbucks). Flipping through some random mag, I came across Audrey Kawasaki's unusual art work. I actually purchased the magazine for her article alone. I clipped out her article and pasted it to my inspiration book where I frequently look at it for some creative inspiration.
I love that you see the wood grain through her semi transparent artwork. Her delicate brushstrokes and feminine qualities she portrays in her pieces are defiantly something to admire. Check out her web site.

EERO IS MY HERO!

If you know me, then you are aware that winter sports or any sports for that matter, is not my thing. I was not gifted with pep or flexibility, but I can certainly appreciate someone who is. That person happens to be Eero Ettala. I stumbled upon his show (Tracking Eero)by accident, but have been hooked ever since.

Born in Finland, he has dominated the sport of snowboarding worldwide. For me, its not the snowboarding that draws me in, although he is gifted with tricks, but the music/traveling that he does. He was given the golden ticket. Traveling where and when he wants to, taking friends and colleagues through sometimes remote destinations so he can bring something new to the sport. I do love travel shows, but his comes with a twist.... he is sexy as hell! Eye candy if you will. Watch Sunday nights on Fuel TV 9:30pm central time.
